Photorealistic Shooter Bodycam Gets Massive Patch: Reworked Physics, FPV Drones, and a Trench Map

Reissad Studio has released the biggest update in the history of its tactical shooter Bodycam — v0.8 Locked & Loaded. Over a year of development, the team didn’t just add fresh content; they fundamentally rebuilt core gameplay mechanics, from procedural animations and recoil physics to a new sound system and weapon customization.

The patch is free for all game owners on Steam. According to the developers, the code refactoring will allow them to implement new features faster in future updates.

Reload Stress and Hundreds of Attachments

First-person character animations now directly depend on the combat situation. In stressful situations, the soldier reloads more nervously, and procedural barrel inspection and quick ammo checks in the magazine have been added. The movement of the chest camera and running shake have also been adjusted to reduce motion sickness without losing the feel of realistic footage.

The game debuts a deep loadout system. Players can customize weapons with hundreds of tactical modules: scopes, suppressors, grips, and magazines now noticeably affect recoil, aiming speed, and gunshot sound. Attachments are unlocked through overall account progression and Reissad Points.

Drones with Acro Mode and a Tactical Tablet

The equipment list now includes reconnaissance gadgets. Players can launch FPV drones and radio-controlled cars to scout rooms or attack enemy positions. Quadcopters have two control modes: arcade for beginners and full Acro Mode with realistic FPV drone physics.

The developers replaced the usual 2D menus with an interactive tablet held by the character. Through it, players can change equipment, adjust scopes, and control drones right during a match, without pausing the game.

Spatial Audio and a New Map

According to the official changelog, the game’s audio engine was built from scratch. The new Organic Reverb technology analyzes the geometry of the environment in real time: gunfire sounds are now realistically muffled by obstacles, reflect off concrete, and travel through corridors and window openings.

The main new map is Trenches. It recreates a layered defense line with muddy trenches, underground bunkers, destroyed buildings, and dynamic weather changes.
