Warner Bros. Releases New ‘Dune: Part Three’ Teaser Featuring Robert Pattinson Ahead of December 18 Release

Warner Bros. has released a new teaser for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi blockbuster “Dune: Part Three” (Dune: Part Three). The video features previously unreleased footage of Robert Pattinson, ahead of the final entry’s global premiere on December 18, 2026.
The promo coincides with the launch of ticket pre-orders for special screenings in premium formats.
A 17-Year Time Jump and a Secret Conspiracy
Based on Frank Herbert’s novel “Dune Messiah,” the third film takes place 17 years after the events of the second movie. Paul Atreides sits on the throne as Emperor of the known universe, attempting to maintain control of power amid the aftermath of a galactic holy war.
Returning cast members include Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, and Jason Momoa.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the key addition to the cast is Robert Pattinson, playing Scytale — a shape-shifting Tleilaxu Face Dancer and one of the leaders of a political conspiracy against House Atreides. Villeneuve himself describes the threequel as a tense psychological and political thriller with a faster narrative pace.
IMAX Filming and a Box Office Showdown
As reported by Gizmodo, “Dune: Part Three” is the first installment in the franchise to mix digital cameras with 70mm IMAX film rigs. Roughly 71 minutes of runtime will feature an expanded 1.90:1 aspect ratio, while select 70mm film theaters will show key sequences in a full 1.43:1 aspect ratio.
The film is scheduled for global release on December 18, 2026. Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday” opens in theaters on the exact same day, setting up a head-to-head box office battle between two of the year’s biggest blockbusters.
