ASUS Unveils Removable Oxiis E250G1 Motor to Turn Any Bicycle Into an E-Bike

ASUS has introduced the Oxiis Intelligent Bike Booster (E250G1), a portable electrification kit. The 3.7 kg device attaches to the seatpost and drives the rear wheel using a motorized friction roller, accelerating the bicycle up to 32 km/h.

The kit features an electric motor with a rated power of 250 W and a peak power output of up to 500 W. Its removable 158.4 Wh battery charges in two hours via a 100 W USB-C Power Delivery port. Range reaches up to 50 km in Eco mode and drops to about 10 km when riding continuously in Sport mode.

Smart Features and Assist System

According to Digital Trends, the gadget offers three preset modes (Eco, Normal, Sport) and comes with a wireless cadence sensor. The Adaptive Boost feature automatically provides extra assistance when climbing steep inclines or pushing against headwinds.

A rear light with an automatic brake signal feature is integrated into the motor housing, while settings can be managed through a dedicated smartphone app.

Compatibility and Pricing

The Oxiis E250G1 is designed for wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 29 inches, including the 700C standard, and fits most folding, road, gravel, and city bikes. The motor is incompatible with full-suspension bikes and carbon seatposts.

According to BikeRadar, the device is set to release in the second half of 2026. Official pricing has not been announced yet, though an estimated price of €500–600 was mentioned at Eurobike.
