
The group stage of the Esports World Cup 2026 Counter-Strike 2 tournament has concluded in Paris, locking in all 16 playoff teams. According to HLTV, the playoffs for the $2 million tournament kick off on August 19 in a single-elimination bracket format.
Under the tournament rules, all playoff series through the semifinals will be played in a best-of-three format, while the grand final will feature a best-of-five matchup.
EWC 2026 CS2 Round of 16 Matchups
According to the HLTV schedule, the opening round of the playoffs on August 19 will feature the following matchups:
- G2 Esports — Astralis
- FURIA — Aurora
- FUT Esports — magic
- GamerLegion — MOUZ
- Natus Vincere — Legacy
- Team Falcons — The MongolZ
- FaZe Clan — Team Vitality
- B8 Esports — Team Spirit
The headline matchup of the opening round will see FaZe Clan take on Team Vitality. Ukrainian organization B8 Esports, following a sensational 2-1 victory over Vitality in the group stage, will face Team Spirit in the round of 16, while Natus Vincere will battle Brazilian squad Legacy for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Match Schedule and Venue Information
The round of 16 matches will take place on August 19 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition center. Quarterfinal series are scheduled for August 20–21, followed by the semifinals on August 22.
According to the EWC press service, the grand final and third-place match will take place on August 23 at the historic Accor Arena, which hosted the final CS:GO Major in 2023.
Prize Pool
The tournament features a total prize pool of $2 million, distributed as follows:
- 1st place: $600,000
- 2nd place: $340,000
- 3rd place: $190,000
Out of the 32 teams that began the tournament, the top 16 remain in the hunt for the championship title.
