Rapper and producer Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, is working on an adaptation of the popular cooperative shooter franchise Payday. The project is being developed in collaboration with Vice Studios and the creators of the original trilogy at Starbreeze.
The series will follow a gang of professional robbers pulling off daring heists on the most secure vaults around the world. According to 50 Cent, the adaptation will stay true to the source material and preserve Payday’s key features: detailed heist planning and dynamic action.
The adaptation is in the very early stages of development. There is no showrunner, director, or cast attached yet, so filming schedules and a premiere date have not been announced.
