50 Cent to produce a TV series based on the Payday game franchise

Rapper and producer Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, is working on a screen adaptation of the popular cooperative shooter franchise Payday. The project is being developed in collaboration with Vice Studios and the creators of the original trilogy from Starbreeze studio.

The plot of the upcoming series will traditionally revolve around a gang of professional robbers pulling off daring heists on the most secure vaults around the world. According to 50 Cent, the adaptation will be as faithful as possible to the source material and will retain the key features of Payday: detailed heist planning and dynamic action.

The screen adaptation is in the very early stages of development. At the moment, the project has no showrunner, director, or confirmed cast, so the start date for filming and the premiere date have not yet been disclosed.
