Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Leaks onto Torrents a Week Ahead of Release

An early copy of Asobo Studio’s action-adventure game Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy has surfaced online. An unofficial PC build of the project landed on torrent sites exactly seven days ahead of its global release, scheduled for August 27, 2026.

This leak involves an early copy reaching the public domain rather than a confirmed breach of its protection system. The origin of the files and whether any DRM bypass methods were applied remain unknown.

A Prequel Following Sophia’s Youth and the Island of the Minotaur

The game takes place 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem. The standalone adventure focuses on the fortune hunter Sophia; developers designed the game to be self-contained, so prior experience with the first two entries in the series is not required.

Following a failed heist in Venice, Sophia flees alongside her partner Leni to the lost Island of the Minotaur, seeking to uncover the truth behind her family lineage and the origins of the ancient Macula curse.

Gameplay leans more heavily toward action-oriented combat: the heroine carries a sword and dagger, actively utilizing parry mechanics, combos, and a grappling hook to pull enemies and launch them into traps. However, the game retains stealth sections and spatial puzzles based on light refraction.

Two Historical Eras and Campaign Length

A key narrative element is the split story across two time periods. During exploration, Sophia experiences visions of the Minoan era, transporting the action back more than two thousand years. In these segments, players control the ancient Greek hero Theseus.

According to TrueAchievements, a complete playthrough of the campaign will take around 20 hours, establishing Resonance as a full-fledged major chapter in the franchise.

Per Focus Entertainment’s announcement, the official release is set for August 27 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with Xbox Game Pass subscribers gaining access on launch day.
