Nvidia Launches DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction: Improved Ray Reconstruction Available on RTX 20 to RTX 50 GPUs

Nvidia has officially launched DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, powered by a next-generation neural network. Unlike hardware frame generation, the updated ray tracing reconstruction algorithm is supported across all GeForce RTX GPU generations, from the RTX 20 series to the latest RTX 50 lineup.
At launch, the new neural network can be tested in 30 games.
Second-Gen Transformer and Ghosting Reduction
At the core of the updated technology is a second-generation transformer neural network model that replaces traditional denoisers. According to Nvidia’s official release, the model processes 20% more parameters and offers 35% more compute capacity without reducing overall rendering performance.
The algorithm analyzes temporal and spatial data from neighboring frames, eliminating ghosting, flickering on complex reflections, and motion blur on fine textures. In showcase materials, the company demonstrated stable rendering of snowstorms in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and laser effects in PRAGMATA.

30 Supported Games and Activation via NVIDIA App
According to VideoCardz, the new model can be forced via the DLSS Override menu in the NVIDIA App when running driver version GeForce Game Ready 580.88 WHQL or newer.
The launch lineup includes 30 titles, such as:
- Cyberpunk 2077;
- Alan Wake 2;
- Resident Evil Requiem;
- DOOM: The Dark Ages;
- Crimson Desert;
- Hogwarts Legacy;
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2;
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle;
- Star Wars Outlaws;
- Half-Life 2 RTX;
- Portal with RTX.
Hardware Limitations of Frame Generation
According to PC Guide, backward compatibility with older generations applies to Super Resolution upscaling and Ray Reconstruction algorithms.
The advanced Dynamic Multi Frame Generation feature, which generates up to six intermediate frames at the hardware level, remains exclusive to GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. Owners of RTX 20, 30, and 40 series graphics cards get improved lighting quality and image sharpness without access to the new generation of frame interpolation.
The feature is currently available in the NVIDIA App Early Access beta, with a stable public release scheduled for September 2026.
