Laser Against Wrinkles and Microcurrents for Facial Contours: JOVS Unveils $899 6D Beauty Mask

Chinese brand JOVS brought its 6D Laser & EMS Anti-Aging Therapy Mask, a home beauty device, to IFA 2026. Unlike standard LED masks, the new product combines phototherapy with electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), working on skin quality and facial muscle tone at the same time. During preorders, the device was priced at $899 against a retail price of $999.
A spectrum up to 1064 nm and ten electrodes for facial expressions
The mask’s optical unit is designed to heat tissue in zones at different depths. According to the specs on JOVS’s official website, the diodes emit at 660, 850, 940 and 1064 nm with peak power up to 143 mW/cm². The long-wave 1064 nm infrared light penetrates deeper than standard red LED arrays, stimulating metabolic processes in the dermis.
The main difference from the previous generation is a built-in microcurrent system with ten contact electrodes. By delivering weak electrical discharges, the mask triggers contractions in the temporal, zygomatic, cheek and masseter facial muscles. The intensity of the massage is adjusted via a remote, and the programs let users combine current pulses with light exposure.
FDA certification and the limits of marketing claims
The manufacturer claims firmer skin and improved facial contours after the first weeks of 15-minute sessions. These figures, however, are based on the company’s internal consumer tests, so they should not be treated as a universal guarantee of rejuvenation.
The hardware itself has been cleared by regulators: the FDA has registered a 510(k) notification for an electrical stimulator from Shenzhen Qianyu Technology, the brand’s parent company. The document confirms the technology is safe for home use, but it is not proof of a radical medical effect.
The mask is made of flexible silicone and has a 4000 mAh battery rated for about three hours of operation (roughly 10–12 sessions). In Europe, the new product costs €969, with the first shipments to customers starting in late September, positioning the device as a premium at-home alternative to in-clinic cosmetology.
