Lexus introduced the ES sedan of the eighth generation: the rejection of gasoline engines, electric versions and assembly in Japan

Lexus has announced specifications and prices for the ES eighth-generation 2027 model year. The model is built on the architecture of K-Platform Architecture, completely abandoned traditional gasoline engines in favor of hybrids and electric vehicles, and its production moved from the United States to Japan.
Electrical modifications ES 350e and ES 500e
The line of all-electric sedans (BEV) received a battery capacity of 74.7 kWh with support for fast DC charging with a capacity of up to 150 kW, allowing you to replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes.
Electric cars are available in two versions:
- ES 350e (FWD): front-wheel drive, one electric motor with a capacity of 221 hp The EPA cycle range is up to 494 km (307 miles).
- ES 500e (AWD): four-wheel drive, twin-engine installation with a total capacity of 338 liters. with. Acceleration to 97 km/h takes 5.1 seconds, and the range is 444 km (276 miles).

Hybrid ES 350h and cabin equipment
Hybrid modification ES 350h equipped with a 2.5-liter gasoline “four” and a sixth-generation power unit with a total capacity of 244 liters. with. The model is offered with front or all-wheel drive e-AWD with a separate electric motor on the rear axle. The average fuel consumption of the front-wheel drive version is 5.1 liters per 100 km.
The interior features a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, a 14-inch Lexus Interface multimedia screen and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0. Hidden Switch touch keys with tactile recoil are integrated directly under the leather upholstery of the front panel and light up when starting the car. The Luxury version offers infrared heaters for the legs of the front passengers, and the optional Executive package adds a rear seat with massage, ventilation and retractable ottomans.

Prices and start of sales
Assembly of the sedan moved to the Toyota Motor Kyushu plant in Japan, and the start of deliveries to customers is scheduled for September 2026.
