2K Teases NBA 2K27 Crossover With GTA 6 Coming in Vice City-Themed Season 3

Publisher 2K hid a hint at a collaboration with Grand Theft Auto VI in the official Season 1 trailer for the basketball sim NBA 2K27. The end of the video reveals a Season 3 announcement featuring palm trees, a Vice City coast neon pink-and-purple palette, and arcade cabinets bearing the Rockstar Games logo.

The companies have not yet issued an official joint press release, but the stylistic matches point directly to a themed crossover.

Vice City references and police sirens

In the teaser for upcoming updates, the Season 3 badge features GTA VI’s signature tropical gradient accompanied by police sirens, crying seagulls, and crashing waves. An arcade cabinet displaying Rockstar’s recognizable logo also appears on screen.

According to GTABoom, the season is expected to add styled street courts on the beaches of Vice City, character apparel, themed soundtracks, and rewards. Due to the basketball sim’s age rating (E for Everyone), the integration will be purely visual and cosmetic.

Alignment with GTA 6 release date and Take-Two synergy

The seasonal content schedule aligns directly with the launch of the year’s biggest blockbuster:

  • Season 1: launches August 26 in early access (the full release of NBA 2K27 arrives September 4);
  • Season 2: begins October 16;
  • Season 3: scheduled for late November—right after the global launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026.

Both companies—2K and Rockstar Games—are subsidiaries of publisher Take-Two Interactive, allowing for a massive cross-promotional campaign within their own gaming ecosystems ahead of the game’s November release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
