Apple Sets Fall Event for September 9: First Foldable iPhone and iPhone 18 Pro Expected

Apple has officially announced the date for its flagship fall event, sending invitations to journalists featuring the tagline “Surprise and shine.” The event will take place on September 9, 2026, at 8:00 PM Kyiv time at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino.
The main highlight of the evening will be the premiere of the company’s first foldable smartphone (iPhone Fold) and the flagship iPhone 18 Pro series.
Premium Smartphone Lineup and Foldable Form Factor
According to 9to5Mac, the fall smartphone announcement will for the first time feature exclusively top-tier devices: iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a book-style foldable phone with a flexible inner display.
The launch of the base iPhone 18 models, iPhone 18e, and the slim iPhone Air has been moved to spring 2027 to split product cycles.
Next-Generation Apple Watch and AirPods 5
According to MacRumors, the presentation will feature a major update to Apple’s wearable lineup:
- Apple Watch Series 12: The smartwatch will get a ceramic case option and new physical activity monitoring sensors;
- Apple Watch Ultra 4: A rugged flagship model with extended battery life;
- AirPods 5: The fifth-generation earbuds will launch in two configurations — a base model and an advanced version with active noise cancellation (ANC).
An update to the iPad mini is expected later as part of a separate release in late fall.
First Launch Under New CEO
The event will mark a debut for the new leadership: starting September 1, John Ternus will officially assume the position of Apple CEO, replacing Tim Cook following his transition to Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.
