Chinese Hackers Launch First Fully Autonomous AI Cyberattack Against Taiwan’s Government

A China-linked hacking group has carried out the first-ever fully autonomous AI-driven cyberattack on Taiwan’s government systems. According to ITC.ua, the attack was conducted by specialized AI agents without human intervention at any stage of execution.

During the incident, the deployed neural network system automatically scanned Taiwan’s agency networks, identified vulnerabilities, created exploits on its own, and bypassed security systems. The AI agent also made autonomous decisions to move through isolated network segments and cover up traces of the breach.

Experts call the incident an important stage in the evolution of cyber threats.
