The Entire Fireboy & Watergirl Saga Comes to Steam: Four Classic Flash Games Released After 17 Years

Developer Oslo Albet has finally brought the original four installments of the legendary cooperative platformer series Fireboy & Watergirl to Steam. Together with previously released titles, the entire main anthology of seven games is now bundled into The Complete Fireboy & Watergirl Saga, featuring cloud saves, achievements, and online co-op.

The Cult Flash Quartet Returns After 17 Years

The original first game in the franchise — The Forest Temple — debuted in browsers in November 2009. Its simple split-keyboard mechanic (one player controls Fire with the arrow keys, the other Water with WASD) made it a staple of school computer labs during the Flash era.

As of September 1, 2026, the classic installments are available on Valve’s digital storefront for the first time:

• Fireboy & Watergirl 1: The Forest Temple (2009): 32 starting levels in the Forest Temple with basic mechanics involving buttons, levers, and colored pools;
• Fireboy & Watergirl 2: The Light Temple (2010): 40 levels in the Light Temple with mirror and light refraction mechanics;
• Fireboy & Watergirl 3: The Ice Temple (2012): 36 levels featuring ice sliding and water freezing physics;
• Fireboy & Watergirl 4: The Crystal Temple: 38 levels with spatial portals and teleportation.

All re-releases include native widescreen support, Steam achievement pages, Steam Cloud integration, and a Russian interface translation.

Complete Seven-Part Bundle and Pricing

With the release of the classic titles, two official Complete the Set bundles are now available on the storefront (the system automatically deducts the cost of items you already own):

Online Co-op via Remote Play Together

Originally, the games were strictly local co-op on a single screen. In the Steam versions, the developer has implemented Steam Remote Play Together: you can now tackle puzzles online with a friend — only one player needs to own the game, and the other can join the stream for free.

After Adobe Flash support was discontinued at the end of 2020, thousands of browser games were lost. The Fireboy & Watergirl franchise first successfully migrated to HTML5 on Coolmath Games, and now it has earned its place as a full-fledged PC classic on Steam, with audience approval ratings ranging from 86% to 94% positive reviews.
