Top 10 Roblox Creators Earn an Average of $65.7 Million a Year — But Most Make Far Less

At the annual Roblox Developers Conference (RDC 2026), platform executives released updated economic figures for the ecosystem. The top 10 most successful content creators earn an average of $65.7 million per year, turning virtual world creation into a highly lucrative business. However, behind the top tier’s impressive figures lies a massive financial divide between professional studios and everyday creators.

Top Earnings: From $1 Million to Tens of Millions

The platform is seeing massive revenue growth among major teams. According to a summary report from RDC 2026, earnings for top creators have nearly quadrupled compared to 2020:

• Top 10 developers make an average of $65.7 million per year;
• Top 100 teams earn roughly $10.8 million annually;
• Top 1,000 creators reached an average income of $1.4 million;
• Creators ranking from 1,000th to 10,000th earn over $30,000 a year.

As noted by GamesBeat, total payouts to creators over the past 12 months through the Developer Exchange (DevEx) currency conversion program exceeded $1.7 billion, while total developer payouts since 2013 have topped $5 billion.

A $1,500 Median and the Reality for 42,000 Creators

The impressive metrics of top-tier teams do little to reflect what the typical creator earns.

In its official global impact report, Roblox revealed that more than 42,000 people are enrolled in the DevEx monetization program. However, the median income for program participants was just around $1,500 per year. That means half of all eligible platform developers earn less than that modest sum for a full year of work.

The metaverse economy follows the law of audience concentration: hundreds of millions of dollars flow to a few dozen established studios with professional engineers and marketing budgets, while for tens of thousands of indie creators, building games inside Roblox remains a low-paying hobby.
