Xiaomi launches Bluetooth Speaker Magnetic Edition with MagSafe and Hall sensor

Xiaomi has unveiled the compact magnetic Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Magnetic Edition on its Youpin platform. The device weighs 95 grams, attaches to the back of a smartphone, delivers 3W of power, and features a ring stand.
The speaker has built-in MagSafe support, so it attaches directly to Apple smartphones (starting with the iPhone 12 lineup). For use with Android devices, including Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco phones, a case with a magnetic ring is required. A Hall sensor is built into the base of the accessory: the speaker automatically turns on when attached to the phone and turns off when removed. The fold-out ring on the body acts as a stand to hold the smartphone vertically or horizontally.
Audio, connectivity, and protection
Sound is delivered by a 1.5-inch driver with 3W of power. The exterior is wrapped in woven fabric with built-in RGB lighting. The body is dust- and water-resistant to IP67, allowing the device to withstand brief submersion up to 1 meter.
Audio is transmitted over Bluetooth 6.0. The software lets you pair two devices in stereo or link up to 10 speakers in a synchronized network.

Battery and price
Inside, there’s a 650mAh battery that charges via USB-C. Battery life is between 4 and 5 hours on a single charge.
During the crowdfunding phase on Xiaomi Youpin, the speaker costs 132 yuan (about $18). After the campaign ends, the retail price in stores will be 199 yuan (about $28).
