Xiaomi Launches Mijia Clothes Dryer 3 Max: Dries 5x Faster and Holds Up to 80 Items

Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 3 Max on its Youpin crowdfunding platform. The flagship ceiling-mounted drying rack features an electric motor with a weight capacity of up to 45 kg, a built-in 1250W heater fan, plasma sterilization, and a 42-inch light panel. During the crowdfunding stage, the device is priced at 2,399 yuan (around $358).

1250W Warm Airflow and Sanitization

The main feature distinguishing the 3 Max from standard models is its semi-enclosed directional drying zone. Airflow is delivered through a 770mm wide duct: the built-in 1250W heating element blows hot air through the hung laundry, drying clothes five times faster than natural evaporation. For delicate fabrics, there is an energy-saving 10W natural air mode.

The hygiene system includes two-stage protection:

  • A special antibacterial drying mesh captures up to 99% of bacteria;
  • A built-in plasma generator ionizes air during blowing, eliminating mold spores and stubborn damp odors.

The design is safe for home use: raising and lowering are handled by an electric motor via 2mm steel cables, and the platform stops instantly if it encounters an obstacle.

9 cm Thickness, 42-Inch Light Panel, and Smart Home Integration

When retracted, the dryer sits flush against the ceiling, measuring just 9 cm thick. The underside doubles as a full 42-inch ceiling light featuring smooth brightness control and color temperature adjustments from 2700K to 5700K. A presence sensor automatically turns the light on when someone enters the balcony and off when they leave.

The usable drying space is designed for large families. The extendable telescopic rods reach up to 2.4 meters in length and are divided into five functional zones. According to the manufacturer, the structure can hold up to 80 garments or two heavy double duvets simultaneously when fully lowered to 1.3 meters.

Control is integrated with the Mi Home app, a wireless RF remote, and Xiao AI voice commands. Pre-orders are now open on the Xiaomi Youpin platform for the Chinese market. The company traditionally announces global availability after completing its domestic pre-order campaign.
