Xiaomi Unveils Mijia Smart Foot Bath Massager with In-Line UV Sanitization

Xiaomi has expanded its smart home ecosystem with a new relaxation device, the Mijia Sterilization Foot Bath. The gadget combines roller foot massage, precise water heating, and in-line ultraviolet disinfection. Sales in China started at an introductory price of 329 yuan (around $49), with a standard retail price of 429 yuan (approx. $64).
Concealed UV Loop and Seamless Massager
The main feature of the model is its safe hygiene system. Contrary to common marketing claims about “UV lamps inside the bath itself,” the quartz sterilizer is hidden deep within the liquid circulation loop.
According to tech outlet ITHome, water is continuously pumped through the built-in sanitizing unit directly during the hydromassage. The enclosed design protects skin from direct radiation and, according to the manufacturer, kills up to 99.9% of bacteria in the water.
For relaxation, two three-speed rotating discs mimic hand kneading of the soles. On top, the mechanical drive is covered by a solid pad made of soft thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). The seamless surface prevents dust and dead skin build-up inside the mechanisms, making the basin easy to clean with a simple rinse.

Safe Heating and Increased Depth
The foot bath features a 950W heater with a DPS system that ensures galvanic isolation between live electrical components and the water. A high-precision NTC temperature sensor allows setting the temperature from 35 to 48 °C in one-degree increments, while the built-in timer supports programs lasting from 5 to 60 minutes.
The body offers extra depth: the distance from the bottom to the edge of the reservoir is 250 mm (with an overall height of 358 mm). This allows water to reach the ankles and lower calves, effectively relieving swelling. To move the heavy water-filled basin, the bottom features transport caster wheels with locks, as well as a drain valve for quick emptying.
As noted by Gizmochina, the device is currently only available in China, and Xiaomi has not yet disclosed a release timeline for a global version with an EU plug.
