The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Trailer Drops Featuring Yorushika Opening, New Character, and December Movie

The creators of The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) anime have released a full trailer for Season 3. According to the official franchise website, the new episodes will premiere on October 2, 2026, followed by a standalone feature film in Japanese theaters on December 11.
The third season will be split into two cours: the first cour will begin airing on October 2, 2026, with the continuation scheduled for April 2027. The plot of the new season moves beyond the imperial palace, as herbalist Maomao and Jinshi face signs of an impending catastrophe and new national challenges.
Popular musical duo Yorushika will perform the season’s opening theme song, while voice actress Reina Ueda joins the cast as a new character named Bai Niannian. Akinori Fudesaka directs the season.

Feature Film “The Deceased Concubine’s Treasure”
Between the two cours of the series—on December 11, 2026—the feature film “The Apothecary Diaries: The Deceased Concubine’s Treasure” will premiere in Japanese theaters.
According to the production team, the movie will offer a completely standalone mystery story. Original light novel author Natsu Hyuuga developed the story concept, Yuko Kakihara wrote the script, and Norihiro Naganuma, who directed the first season, returns as director.
