The Naruto franchise will get its own presentation panel at New York Comic Con 2026. During the event, titled Naruto: What’s Next?, scheduled for October 10, organizers will unveil an updated roadmap for the universe and introduce new projects.

The presentation will take place on the main Empire Stage, featuring Japanese voice actors — seiyuu Junko Takeuchi (Naruto) and Noriaki Sugiyama (Sasuke).

Anime and Card Game Plans

According to the franchise’s official portal, the creators will share fresh details about new media projects and the Naruto Card Game, a tabletop card game slated for a 2027 launch.

The community also expects news about the delayed four-episode anniversary special of the classic anime: the project was originally planned for the series’ 20th anniversary, but the animators took extra time to polish the visual quality.

Status of Lionsgate’s Hollywood Adaptation

The key intrigue of the fall festival remains the status of the live-action feature film. In July, Lionsgate officially launched a worldwide casting search for the roles of young Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, confirming the film’s move into pre-production.

Destin Daniel Cretton (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) is set to direct. In an interview with Inverse, the filmmaker emphasized that the film won’t be a superficial attempt to retell the entire manga in two hours: the script will focus on a detailed adaptation of the early arc of Team 7’s formation in the Hidden Leaf Village.

The original creator, Masashi Kishimoto, has publicly endorsed the adaptation and Cretton’s involvement, stating his willingness to consult the production team. The studio has yet to reveal an official filming start date.
