Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Poster Features Sukuna, Details on Culling Game Part 2

Animation studio MAPPA unveiled a new key visual and synopsis for the fourth season of Jujutsu Kaisen at the Jujutsu Fes 2026 anniversary festival. The new season adapts the second half of the massive Culling Game arc, putting the spotlight on the confrontation with Ryomen Sukuna and a series of key battles from the manga.
Sukuna Takes Center Stage in the Next Round of the Culling Game
The poster shows the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, standing in dark waters and reaching out toward the viewer.
According to the official Jujutsu Kaisen anime website, the story picks up right after the third season finale:
- Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro continue their desperate attempts to save Tsumiki and find a way to unseal Satoru Gojo;
- Megumi makes contact with the mysterious Angel — a user of a technique that can neutralize any barriers and seals of the Prison Realm;
- After his grueling victories in the Sendai colony, Yuta Okkotsu accumulates points to change the rules of Kenjaku’s deadly tournament.
Season’s Biggest Battles: Hakari vs. Kashimo
According to Anime! Anime!, viewers can expect an adaptation of one of the most spectacular confrontations in the entire franchise:
- Kinji Hakari and Panda head to Tokyo’s 2nd colony to challenge the ancient sorcerer Hajime Kashimo, who has earned 100 winning points;
- Maki Zenin begins operating in the colonies after the brutal events at her clan’s estate;
- Choso and special grade sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo take up defensive positions inside the Star Corridor tomb to protect the immortal master Tengen from Kenjaku’s attack.
Meanwhile, Sukuna himself begins to set his own sinister plan in motion, shifting the balance of power in the jujutsu world.
Director Change at MAPPA
The fourth season’s production team has seen some personnel changes:
- Takeru Sato, who served as assistant director on the third season, has been promoted to director;
- Shota Goshozono, who directed the previous seasons, remains on the project as chief director;
- Hiroshi Seko continues to handle the series composition and scripts;
- Character design is handled by a trio of artists: Yosuke Yajima, Hiromi Niwa, and Sota Yamazaki;
- The original soundtrack is composed by Yoshimasa Terui.
The team’s continuity ensures the signature dynamic animation style seen in MAPPA’s debut video teaser will be preserved.
