Spider-Man Voice Actor Wants Deadpool in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3: Why It’s Just a Wish, Not an Inside Scoop

Actor Yuri Lowenthal, who voices Peter Parker in Insomniac Games’ superhero series, has once again voiced his desire to see his character team up with Deadpool in the next game. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he has repeatedly pitched the idea of having the two characters cross paths on the streets of New York to management. However, hasty online claims suggesting the studio greenlit the idea and is prepping a cameo for the Merc with a Mouth misrepresent the facts.
An Old Dream and a Departed Director
Speaking to the host of YouTube show The Movie Dweeb, Lowenthal was asked about a potential crossover between Spider-Man and Wolverine, whose solo game is currently in development at Insomniac. The actor agreed that pairing up with Logan would look great, but emphasized that Deadpool is the character he most wants to see in the third installment.
According to GamesRadar+, Lowenthal recalled bringing the pitch to creative director Brian Horton, jokingly noting that if Wade Wilson ever shows up in the threequel, he would like to take credit for the idea.
Social media quickly spun the actor’s comments into an alleged inside scoop, even though Lowenthal has pushed this concept for years. Back in 2023, ahead of the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launch, he told ComicBook.com that he had been urging developers to bring in Deadpool and cast voice acting veteran Nolan North in the role.
Furthermore, the recipient of those requests is no longer working on the franchise. As journalist Stephen Totilo reported in Game File, Brian Horton left Insomniac back in 2024 to direct the Perfect Dark reboot and moved to a VP role at publisher 2K in 2026.
The Actual Status of the Third Game
Neither Sony Interactive Entertainment nor Insomniac Games has officially announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 yet. The project’s recent appearance on IMDb with a filming status means nothing: the movie database is open to user edits and has frequently featured fan-made drafts.
Lowenthal previously confirmed that Peter Parker will definitely return in future titles and won’t just “sit on the couch” after handing off some responsibilities to Miles Morales. However, Deadpool’s inclusion in the storyline remains solely the actor’s personal wish list, something the developers have never publicly confirmed.
