Xiaomi Launches Its First Mijia Washer-Dryer With a Heat Pump

Xiaomi has expanded its large home appliance lineup with the Mijia Heat Pump Washer Dryer Pro 13kg, the brand’s first washer-dryer with a heat pump. The new model handles 13 kg of laundry when washing and up to 9 kg when drying and is currently aimed primarily at the Chinese market.

The main difference between the new model and the more affordable Mijia washer-dryers is precisely the heat pump system. Instead of traditional high-temperature drying, the appliance reuses heat and operates at lower temperatures, which reduces energy consumption and is gentler on fabrics.

The existence of the 13-kilogram model is also confirmed by the IFA Innovation Awards entrant list, where the appliance appeared among Xiaomi products.

Drying at 36–42 °C and up to 73% less energy consumption

According to the manufacturer, the temperature during drying is maintained at roughly 36–42 °C.

Xiaomi claims the heat pump system cuts drying time by 49% and power consumption by 73% compared with its previous solution without a heat pump.

However, these figures come from the company’s internal tests and do not mean that such savings will be achieved with any program, fabric type or load.

For small loads, there is a speed mode: 1 kg of items can be washed and dried in about 40 minutes.

The machine supports 35 washing and drying programs, including 11 modes for more delicate materials.

Electrolysis helps fight stains and dye transfer

Another feature is the proprietary super-electrolysis technology. It is designed to remove tough soiling, reduce fabric yellowing and combat dye transfer between items.

Xiaomi also claims disinfection effectiveness of up to 99%, but this figure, like the energy consumption data, comes from the manufacturer’s laboratory tests.

A two-layer filtration system collects lint, which is especially important for a device that combines washing and full drying in a single unit.

Through the Mijia ecosystem, users can control the machine remotely and get program recommendations based on fabric type and the nature of the soiling.

Price depends on subsidies and the sales channel

There are several prices for the Mijia Heat Pump Washer Dryer Pro 13kg.

Chinese publications list a recommended price of 6,499 yuan (about $970), while after a government subsidy the price can drop to about 4,999 yuan (about $745). Some stores also show an intermediate price of 5,884 yuan (about $875).

So the last figure is better treated as the price of a specific offer rather than a single official price for the device.

The new Mijia is notable primarily because heat pump technology is gradually moving from standalone dryers into combined two-in-one appliances. This makes it possible to get more economical and gentler drying without having to install two full-size machines.
