Marvel Drops New VisionQuest Trailer – Vision Searches for His Son as Ultron Returns After 11 Years

Marvel Television has released a new trailer for VisionQuest, the series about Vision that will wrap up the trilogy started by WandaVision and continued by Agatha All Along. It premieres October 14, 2026, exclusively on Disney+.

After the events of WandaVision, the rebooted Vision, played by Paul Bettany, is hiding from the people who tried to turn him into a weapon. He has kept his memories but is trying to make sense of his own identity again and figure out who he is supposed to become next.

According to Disney’s official description, Vision turns to the AI personas embedded in his system for answers. They include F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron.

His quiet life ends when a bounty is placed on Vision and he has to go on the run with the mysterious Thomas Shepherd.

Vision Tries to Find His Son

One of the show’s central storylines will be that of Thomas Shepherd, played by Ruairi Mollika.

Marvel describes him as a young man who may turn out to be Vision’s reincarnated son. In the comics, Tommy is connected to the son of Wanda Maximoff and Vision, and in the MCU this storyline has already been developed in WandaVision and Agatha All Along.

The new trailer puts more emphasis on the search for Thomas. Vision explores his past with Wanda and gradually learns of the young man’s existence, after which he tries to protect him while also figuring out who he really is.

Ultron Speaks with James Spader’s Voice Again

Another major part of VisionQuest will be the return of Ultron, again played by James Spader. The actor hasn’t taken on the role since Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.

Judging by the new trailer, the villain exists among the AI personas inside Vision’s mind and actively influences the hero. Ultron doesn’t just watch what’s happening – he offers to help Vision save Thomas while pursuing his own goals at the same time.

So their relationship won’t be built solely on direct confrontation. Vision will have to use the help of the AI that created him while resisting its influence.

Besides Spader, the series will feature personified versions of other MCU programs. James D’Arcy will return as J.A.R.V.I.S., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., and Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H.

The cast also includes Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer.

The series was created for television and co-written by Terry Matalas, who previously worked on Star Trek: Picard.

This Isn’t the First VisionQuest Trailer

The fresh clip offers a new in-depth look at the series, but Marvel showed the first official trailer back in August at D23 2026.

Paul Bettany, James Spader and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige took the stage together at the time. Disney also officially confirmed the release date and that VisionQuest will be the finale of the trilogy after WandaVision and Agatha All Along.

The new trailer reveals more about Vision’s relationship with Thomas and Ultron’s role in the story.

VisionQuest hits Disney+ on October 14, 2026.
