Ultron as a Therapist and a Mind Palace: Marvel Drops New VisionQuest Teaser

Marvel Studios has released a new 30-second teaser for VisionQuest, which premieres on Disney+ on October 14, 2026. The project will officially close out the television trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Unlike its predecessors, the new story shifts genres into a psychological sci-fi thriller set inside an artificial intelligence.
According to Disney’s official press kit, after the events in Westview, White Vision is hiding from the corporations and intelligence agencies that tried to use him as a weapon. To restore his memory and make sense of his own fractured personality, the android descends into a kind of “mind palace.” Inside his code, he interacts with the remnants of the AI systems integrated into him — J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H. and Ultron, each of whom takes on a human form within his subconscious.

Spader Returns and Jocasta Makes Her Debut
The highlight of the clip is Ultron’s return. James Spader is back as the iconic antagonist, a role he hadn’t played since 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Inside Vision’s consciousness, their exchanges play out like surreal therapy sessions. Spader previously described his new take on Ultron in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes as an unpredictable mix of “therapist and psychopath.”
The new TV spot also gives the first detailed look at Jocasta, played by T’Nia Miller (The Haunting of Bly Manor), including a scene of her facing off directly against Vision. In the classic comics, this female android was created by Ultron himself, but the studio is keeping quiet for now about how closely the writers will adapt her story to the MCU. The teaser also flashes footage of the super-speedster Tommy Shepherd — a reincarnation of one of Wanda Maximoff’s sons.
A key difference in the new project lies in its production team. Terry Matalas, who previously rebooted the Star Trek TV franchise with Picard, serves as showrunner on VisionQuest. Jac Schaeffer, the creator of the original WandaVision, is limited this time to an executive producer credit.
