Bodycam Shooter’s Major ‘Locked & Loaded’ Update Adds Stress-Induced Reloads, FPV Drones, and Trenches Map

Reissad Studio has unveiled a massive v0.8: Locked & Loaded update for its realistic bodycam-style shooter Bodycam. Scheduled for release on September 2, 2026, on Steam, the update completely overhauls animation physics, the audio engine, and weapon customization, while introducing an open trenches map.

The developers describe the patch as a foundation for the game’s future, noting that the team spent the past year rewriting key core mechanics.

Stress-Induced Animations and Tactical Tablet

The headline feature is a procedural first-person movement system. Weapon positioning and reload animations now dynamically adapt to the soldier’s stance, ammo type, and stress level: in high-pressure situations, characters can fumble magazine changes. The operator also reacts to surrounding events, instinctively shielding their face during nearby explosions, adjusting the bodycam after sharp turns, and touching their radio during voice chat.

The shooter introduces a detailed weapon customization system with hundreds of attachment combinations affecting recoil, accuracy, and sound. To change gear mid-match, players will use a physical tablet; however, interacting with the real-time interface leaves the character completely vulnerable to attacks.

FPV Drones, RC Explosives, and Organic Reverb Audio

According to TechTimes, the arsenal will expand to include remote-controlled explosive cars and FPV drones featuring a full-physics Acro Mode for scouting. The number of gadgets per match will be strictly limited.

The audio system has been rebuilt using Organic Reverb technology. This algorithm calculates sound wave propagation and reverberation in real time through doorways, hallways, stairwells, and open spaces. The update improves vertical footstep positioning, adds physical sound effects for shockwaves and whizzing bullets, and intensifies the acoustic suppression effect under heavy fire.

Trenches Map and Closed Playtest

According to the official Steam announcement, the game will receive a large open map called Trenches, featuring a labyrinth of trenches, a burnt forest, and open fields. The pre-match lobby will also transform into an interactive training hub with a shooting range and a drone piloting area.

Ahead of the update’s release on September 2, 2026, the developers will host a limited Steam playtest. Sign-ups are already open on the game’s store page.
