Amazon Renews ‘Sterling Point’ for Season 2 Two Weeks After Premiere

Amazon Prime Video has officially greenlit a second season of its teen drama Sterling Point. The show debuted on August 5, ranking as the platform’s top global series launch and earning a 90% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, prompting the studio to order a renewal just 15 days after release.
All eight episodes of the first season are currently available to stream.
Family Secrets in the Canadian Lakes
The story follows 17-year-old New Yorker Annie, played by Ella Rubin, and her twin brother Connor. Unexpectedly, the teens inherit an entire private island, Sterling Point, in Ontario’s Muskoka lakes region from a grandfather they never knew. Upon arriving at the island, the pair uncover a web of family secrets, local rivalries, and first romance.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the series earned a Certified Fresh rating along with an 84% audience score. Critics highlighted its nostalgic feel, echoing early-2000s coming-of-age classics like Gilmore Girls and Dawson’s Creek.
Creative Team and Star Producers
The show was created and directed by Megan Park (My Old Ass).
The executive production team includes Gossip Girl and The O.C. creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, alongside actress Margot Robbie through her production company LuckyChap. The first-season cast features Amelie Hoeferle, Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, Jay Duplass, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Plans for Season 2
According to Entertainment Weekly, season two writers plan to explore the fallout from the finale’s revelations, the backstory of Connor’s biological parents, and the future of the island itself.
According to TheWrap, such a swift renewal for a series not backed by an established franchise underscores its high audience retention. The production schedule and release window for Season 2 will be announced later.
