LG Opens Preorders for World’s First 1000Hz Monitor: UltraGear 25G590B Pricing and Specs

LG Electronics has opened preorders for the UltraGear 25G590B, the world’s first gaming display with a native 1000Hz refresh rate. This professional-grade model, which can be overclocked to 1100Hz, will hit the market on September 1, 2026, priced at $999.99.

The device was designed specifically for tournament gaming and competitive shooters.

Native 1000Hz IPS Panel and MBR Pro Technology

The standout feature is a 24.5-inch IPS panel with a 1920 × 1080 (Full HD) resolution, capable of delivering a 1000Hz refresh rate natively without dynamic resolution scaling. To eliminate motion blur in titles like Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant, engineers integrated MBR Pro backlight technology with a 1ms response time.

The monitor’s menu allows for overclocking to 1100Hz, though enabling this feature disables NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certification and stops support for AMD FreeSync Premium adaptive synchronization.

GPU Requirements and DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20

According to the official LG announcement, handling such an extreme video stream requires Windows 11 and a direct connection via DisplayPort 2.1 with the UHBR20 bandwidth standard.

Standard operation at the maximum refresh rate has been tested with GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, as well as the Radeon RX 7900, RX 9060, and RX 9070. The chassis also features two HDMI 2.1 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Color Accuracy and Tournament Ergonomics

As noted by Tom’s Hardware, the manufacturer has moved away from archaic TN panels. The use of ATW Polarizer technology ensures wide viewing angles, 99% sRGB color gamut coverage, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.

The stand base is compact, freeing up desk space for wide mouse swipes at low sensitivity settings. An integrated AI Sound software module analyzes the audio track in real time, highlighting enemy footsteps and weapon reloads in connected headphones.

The LG UltraGear 25G590B is priced at $999.99 in the US market, with the first units shipping to customers on September 1, 2026.
