A major visual mod for Minecraft, Shine 3.0, has been released. Unlike standard shader packs, the mod works on top of the game’s base renderer, adding dynamic plant reactions to player footsteps, flocks of birds, the northern lights, and an advanced weather system.

The main new feature in version 3 is the interactivity of the environment: grass, flowers, vines, and saplings realistically bend as players or mobs pass by. Footprints appear on blocks, and moving through water creates physical splashes and ripples.

The graphics suite also includes flocks of birds with their own behavior and sounds, several types of rain, puddles on surfaces, rainbows, thunderstorms, the northern lights, volumetric god rays, fog, and dynamic bloom for light sources.

Shine Studio Settings and System Requirements

According to the project’s official knowledge base, the mod includes a built-in Shine Studio menu. Players can flexibly enable or disable each effect individually, choose from preset performance profiles (from Ultra to Max Performance), and monitor FPS and render times via built-in diagnostics.

The mod is fully client-side and requires no server-side support. Download https://shine-wiki.pages.dev/download for version 1.21.11 using the Fabric loader and Sodium optimizer (version 0.8.12 or newer). When used with the Iris mod, the system automatically disables duplicate effects to avoid graphical conflicts with shaders.
