‘Outer Banks’ Season 5 Premieres on Netflix: All 10 Episodes Available as ‘Kildare’ Prequel Announced

Streaming platform Netflix has released the fifth and final season of the teen adventure drama Outer Banks. As of August 20, 2026, all 10 episodes concluding the Pogues’ six-year treasure hunt story arc are available to stream.

The final season was not split into multiple parts, delivering the entire climax at once.

Lisbon Climax and an Alliance with Rafe

Season 5 picks up directly after the tragic finale in Morocco. Having lost the Blue Crown, their money, and their shelter, John BSarahKiaraPope, and Cleo return home to find their lives completely upended. To regain the stolen artifact and avenge their lost crewmate, the group must form a shaky alliance with their long-time enemy, Rafe.

The main action shifts to Europe: hot on Chandler Groff’s trail, the teens head to Lisbon, where the decisive hunt for the relic unfolds.

Series creators Josh PateJonas Pate, and Shannon Burke noted that the story was envisioned from the start as a five-season arc. Over its run, the first four seasons generated a combined total of roughly 200 million views on the platform, placing in Netflix’s global top 10 English-language TV series list 25 times.

Cast and Announcement of Prequel Series ‘Kildare’

All core franchise stars returned for the final season: Chase StokesMadelyn ClineMadison BaileyJonathan DavissCarlacia GrantDrew Starkey, and Austin North. Production wrapped in Charleston in December 2025, bringing an end to seven years of work on the project for the cast.

Even as the flagship series ends, the universe will continue to expand. According to Deadline, Netflix has greenlit a prequel series under the working title Kildare. Reports from Entertainment Weekly indicate the spin-off will take viewers back 20 years to reveal the origins of the clash between the island’s wealthy elite (Kooks) and the working class (Pogues).
