Sucker Punch Announces Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition With Story DLC Echoes of Sekigahara and Roguelike Mode

Sucker Punch has officially unveiled Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition, timed to the game’s first anniversary. It includes the major story expansion Echoes of Sekigahara, a solo roguelike mode called Most Wanted, and a free 2.0 patch. The release is set for October 1.

Echoes of Sekigahara Story and Timelines

The story expansion tells a new chapter in the tale of protagonist Atsu, with the narrative unfolding across two timelines. In the present, Atsu ventures into an uncharted valley in the Ezo region (Hokkaido), where a bandit known as The Snake and his gang, the Vipers, hold sway. In flashbacks, players will take part in the historic Battle of Sekigahara (1600) on Honshu Island. A key ally will be Nagato, an important figure from Atsu’s past.

Most Wanted Mode and Characters

Complete Edition also adds a new solo roguelike mode, Most Wanted. Players take on bounty-hunting contracts and clear combat arenas to earn upgrades. The mode features three playable characters, each with unique weapons:

• Atsu: wields dual katanas;
• Oyuuki: fights with a chain sickle (kusarigama);
• Nagato: uses a traditional yari spear.

Update 2.0, Pricing, and Upgrade Terms

Alongside the edition’s release on October 1, all owners of the original game will get the 2.0 patch for free. It adds an armor transmogrification feature (keeping one set’s appearance while applying another’s stats), a relaxation mode with dynamic screensavers called Beauty of Yōtei, new music tracks for “Watanabe mode,” and new photo mode items.

Pricing:

• Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition: $69.99 (full package with base game, Legends multiplayer, DLC, and Most Wanted mode);
• Upgrade for original owners: $14.99 (pre-order discount until October 1 brings it to $11.99).

Players who purchase the upgrade by September 30 will get early access to the Sakai Armor, a nod to Jin Sakai’s armor from the first game in the series.
