Disney+ has released an official watch list leading up to the events of “Avengers: Doomsday.” Instead of a full-scale marathon through the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, viewers are offered a streamlined list of 15 movies and shows totaling around 42 hours.

According to MovieWeb, the service selected only storylines that directly lead to the multiverse conflict and the confrontation with Doctor Doom.

The list includes:

  • “X-Men” (2000)
  • “X2” (2003)
  • “Captain America: The First Avenger” (2011)
  • “The Avengers” (2012)
  • “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018)
  • “Avengers: Endgame” (2019)
  • “Loki” (Seasons 1 and 2)
  • “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” (2021)
  • “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021)
  • “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” (2022)
  • “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (2022)
  • “Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024)
  • “Captain America: Brave New World”
  • “Thunderbolts*”
  • “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”

Why Classic X-Men Films Are Included

The inclusion of 2000s Fox franchise titles stems from story crossovers: original X-Men stars are confirmed to appear in “Doomsday,” including Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), and James Marsden (Cyclops).

At the same time, Disney+ curators left out many popular entries such as “Age of Ultron” and “Civil War,” focusing instead on forming the Avengers, setting up parallel timelines, and introducing the Fantastic Four.

“Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled for a global theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
