Telltale Games and PM Studios have announced the official release date for The Wolf Among Us Remastered, an updated version of the iconic detective adventure game. The project will launch on October 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.

Along with the announcement, the developers revealed a trailer showcasing a special black-and-white visual mode called Noir Mode.

Black-and-White Noir and Technical Improvements

The special Noir Mode stylizes the visuals to match classic film noir, emphasizing the dark atmosphere of 1980s crime-ridden New York.

The remaster includes all five episodes of the original 2013 story in a single package. The developers overhauled the dynamic lighting system, enhanced environmental texture detail, unlocked high frame rates, added spatial audio, and expanded accessibility options. Meanwhile, the classic moral choice system and branching dialogue remain unchanged.

Cut Scenes and Preparation for the Sequel

According to Gematsu, the remaster includes over an hour of bonus content: cut story scenes, documentary interviews with the cast, a gallery of early concept art, and archival writer commentaries.

The story takes place in Fabletown, a secret enclave of fairytale characters hiding among humans. The protagonist, Sheriff Bigby Wolf (The Big Bad Wolf), investigates a string of mysterious murders while dealing with the city’s criminal underworld.

As reported by Nintendo Life, the remaster is meant to refresh the story ahead of the full sequel, The Wolf Among Us 2, which is scheduled for release in 2027.

The Wolf Among Us Remastered will launch on October 29 on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and console digital storefronts, with a physical release on disc and cartridge expected by the end of the year.
