Xiaomi Unveils $51 Redmi Watch 6 Active With AMOLED Screen and 18-Day Battery Life

Xiaomi has expanded its wearable lineup with the launch of the budget-friendly Redmi Watch 6 Active smartwatch. The new device combines a bright AMOLED display with Always-On Display support, Bluetooth voice calling, a expanded suite of health sensors, and up to 18 days of battery life, all priced in China at just 349 yuan (around $51).
The device has appeared in the catalog in three case colorways (Gunmetal, Pink Orange, and Silver) and is already starting to roll out to international markets.
Bright Display, Slim Body, and IP68 Water Resistance
The smartwatch features a rectangular 1.85-inch AMOLED display with a 390 × 450 resolution, peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits, and protective 2.5D curved glass. Designed for daily comfort, the case measures 9.9mm thick and weighs just 26 grams without the strap. Dust and water resistance is rated IP68.
According to tech publications, the built-in 470 mAh battery delivers:
- up to 12 days of battery life under typical usage;
- up to 18 days in battery saver mode;
- around 6 days with Always-On Display (AOD) enabled continuously.
140 Workout Modes and Bluetooth Calling
Fitness features include over 140 sports modes, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) tracking, sleep quality analysis, stress monitoring, and breathing exercises.
Thanks to a built-in microphone, speaker, and Bluetooth 5.3 module, the watch supports incoming voice calls from a smartphone. The wearable is compatible with devices running Android 8.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later, allowing users to sync activity data with Apple Health and remotely control their phone’s camera shutter.
Differences From the Standard Redmi Watch 6
To keep the price as low as possible, Xiaomi made a few compromises. Unlike the base Redmi Watch 6, the Active model lacks built-in GPS navigation (relying on smartphone geolocation to track run routes) and a full NFC chip for contactless payments.
However, for users looking for a lightweight, long-lasting fitness accessory with a quality display, the new model offers a solid balance of price and features.
