About 89% of Early GTA 6 Pre-Orders Are for the $100 Edition, Sensor Tower Estimates

Analytics firm Sensor Tower estimates that roughly 89% of early Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders are for the expanded Ultimate Edition priced at $99.99. Only 11% of buyers are opting for the standard $79.99 version at the start of pre-orders.
According to a report published by GamesIndustry.biz, the premium edition accounts for 90% of pre-orders on Xbox consoles and 88.5% among PlayStation owners. Analysts estimate total pre-orders placed so far at around 4.3 million copies.
Speaking to TechRadar, Sensor Tower representative Karl Kontus highlighted that expensive editions typically account for just 10–20% of pre-orders in the gaming industry, making a figure near 90% unprecedented. The abnormal shift is attributed to the modest $20 price difference given the bonus pack included with the Ultimate Edition (in-game vehicles, weapons, real estate, and clothing).
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously confirmed the trend without disclosing exact figures. Sensor Tower expects the ratio to shift closer to 50/50 as the release approaches and mainstream buyers less interested in collectible content join in.
