Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Premieres January 2027: Mizu Heads to London, Series Renewed for Final Season

Netflix has released a new teaser for the second season of the acclaimed animated series Blue Eye Samurai and officially announced the premiere window: the continuation will arrive in January 2027.
The second season will consist of 6 episodes instead of 8, but the creators promise a significant increase in scale and emotional intensity.
A Change of Scenery: From Japan to 17th-Century London
The first season finale drastically changes the show’s geography. Protagonist Mizu sets sail for London to find and eliminate the remaining two men on her revenge list — Skeffington and Routley. She is accompanied by the captive Abijah Fowler, who serves as a living compass and prisoner, the only one who knows their whereabouts.
According to Netflix’s official Tudum portal, the storyline will unfold on two fronts:
- In England: Mizu will face a foreign culture, systemic everyday rejection, and new enemies on the streets of foggy London;
- In Japan: Akemi and Taigen will fight for influence and survival in Edo Castle under a dangerous new shogun, while Ringo sets out to find his own purpose.
"I choose revenge."

The Team and a Third Season Renewal
The animation continues to be produced by French studio Blue Spirit under the guidance of creators and executive producers Amber Noizumi and Michael Green. Voice actors Maya Erskine (Mizu), Kenneth Branagh (Abijah Fowler), Brenda Song (Akemi), Darren Barnet (Taigen), and Masi Oka (Ringo) are all returning to their roles.
Netflix has already secured the project’s long-term future: the service has officially renewed Blue Eye Samurai for a third and final season, slated for 2028. It will bring Mizu’s revenge story to an epic conclusion.
