Xiaomi has unveiled the 31-liter Mijia Smart Fish Tank 2 Pro. The new smart aquarium features an automatic fish feeding system, multi-stage filtration, a color display, and backup power support via an external battery during power outages.

The 50 cm wide body is made of ultra-clear high-definition glass. The front panel houses a 1.47-inch color LCD display showing current water temperature, pump operating mode, lighting status, and sensor alerts.

The main hardware upgrade is the built-in automatic feeder: users can set a precise schedule for portioned feeding or feed their fish remotely via the Xiaomi Home app. According to the manufacturer, a single full refill lasts for several months.

Filtration, Lighting, and Power Outage Protection

According to ITHome, a quiet brushless pump ensures 24/7 water circulation. The water undergoes multi-stage mechanical and biological filtration to trap waste and maintain healthy bacteria colonies.

The aquarium features customizable RGB lighting with preset lighting scenes, a jump-proof lid, and a dedicated water-resistant 5W connector for a heater or UV sterilizer.

For emergency blackouts, backup power is supported: the aquarium can be plugged into a standard power bank via a 5V / 2A port so the pump can continue oxygenating the water.

Crowdfunding on Xiaomi Youpin opens on August 24 at an introductory price of 599 yuan (about $83). The suggested retail price will be 699 yuan (about $97).
