Apple Releases Third macOS 27.2 Beta: Siri AI Speaks Five New Languages

On October 5, 2026, Apple rolled out macOS Golden Gate 27.2 beta 3 to registered developers. The update arrives two weeks after the second beta and brings the system closer to its fall public release. The headline feature of the entire 27.2 branch is a major geographic expansion of Siri AI: the voice assistant built on generative models has finally learned five new key languages.
The test build adds support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, just as the company promised in its September announcement. The situation for European users stands out: while the rollout of Apple Intelligence features on smartphones in the EU is held back by the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Mac computers and Vision Pro headsets offer access to the updated Siri with no regional restrictions — users simply pick any of the supported system languages.
Segmented sliders return, and bugs hit Xcode
Beyond its AI features, Apple keeps polishing the interface. Starting with the previous test build, engineers brought back the classic design of the volume and brightness indicators. Instead of a solid bar, the screen once again shows a segmented scale made up of individual notches, which makes the visual feedback from pressing the hotkeys clearer and more precise.
You can install the update from System Settings → General → Software Update by switching to the Developer Beta branch. Putting the system on your main work computer is still risky, though. The official developer release notes list several unpleasant system failures: Xcode can suddenly quit while autocompleting code, some standard utilities stop requesting permission to show notifications after a clean install, and generating text descriptions for shortcuts (Describe a Shortcut) throws a software error.
Cupertino traditionally does not name the exact day of the stable release. According to MacRumors sources, the final version of macOS Golden Gate 27.2 will reach regular users in late October, wrapping up a month-and-a-half open testing cycle.
