Xiaomi 18 Fold Foldable Flagship Leaks in Live Photos With Wider Body and Custom 3nm Chip

The first real-world photos of the Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable smartphone have surfaced online ahead of its official debut scheduled for September 2026. The images reveal a departure from the old MIX Fold branding, a transition to a wider tablet-style chassis, and a massive horizontal camera island.
The device will mark the commercial debut of Xiaomi’s in-house 3nm Xring O3 processor.
New Form Factor and Horizontal Camera Island
According to Android Authority, the company revamped the device proportions: the smartphone is noticeably wider and shorter than its predecessors, adopting an inner screen aspect ratio closer to compact tablets.
The rear panel features an elongated camera module spanning almost the full width of the back cover, housing three lenses and an LED flash. The body comes in a deep Dark Cherry shade.
The leak’s authenticity is backed by company CEO Lei Jun recently spotted holding a matching device, as well as the silhouette aligning with HyperOS 4 preview materials.
Debut of Custom 3nm Xring O3 Chipset
The primary technical highlight is its hardware platform. As reported by Gizmochina, the Xiaomi 18 Fold will be the first to feature the flagship Xring O3 chip developed by Xiaomi’s semiconductor division.
According to Reuters, the processor is manufactured by TSMC on a 3-nanometer process. The chipset combines 10 CPU cores clocked at up to 4.35 GHz with a 16-core G2-Ultra NX GPU, and is the first on the market to support LPDDR6 memory with bandwidth up to 113.8 GB/s.
According to internal tests, the platform scores over 5.2 million points in the AnTuTu V11 benchmark.
Rumored Specs and Announcement Date
Insiders expect the foldable to feature an inner main display around 7.6 inches, a 200MP primary camera sensor, and a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of around 6,000 mAh supporting wireless charging.
The official presentation of the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China will take place in September 2026. Pricing and details regarding an international launch will be revealed at the event.
